Tinlicker is a Dutch electronic music duo formed in 2012 between Micha Heyboer and Jordi van Achthoven. Both were inspired by artists like Paul Kalkbrenner, Trentemøller, and Moderat. The pair has released music on major labels, including Anjunadeep, Armada, and mau5trap, and have also played many big-name festivals, such as Tomorrowland, Creamfields, and Ultra.
Tinlicker initially started as a solo project of Heyboer, who released its first EP, It’s My First Time Here, in 2012 and its first album, Remember the Future. Heyboer and van Achthoven connected in 2014 and released their first EP together later that year called Feed Me: Like No Other. The duo followed that up with two more EPs in 2015, Into the Open and The Space In Between.
In 2016, the group’s profile continued to rise thanks to having two separate tracks premier on major shows, including Maandag on the Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy and In All The Fire on Data Transmission. 2017 saw Tinlicker’s debut release on Anjunadeep titled Soon You’ll Be Gone and played the mainstage of Mysterland later that year.
Tinlicker’s 2019 full-length album, This Is Not Our Universe, reached number one on the dance album charts in the US, Australia, India, Canada, and Finland, and number two in the UK, Netherlands, and Poland. The duo added to their accolades when their remix of the Robert Miles classic Children hit the top spot on Beatport in 2020.
